FAQs
Your Questions Answered
How long does counseling take?
Typically, counseling sessions are scheduled for a 50 minute time period 1-4 times per month. Because each situation is different, it is important that you work with your individual therapist to develop a plan that feels comfortable and beneficial to you.
What are your session fees?
Contact your insurance provider and request information on your outpatient mental health benefits and be sure to inquire as to the benefit for in-network and out-of network (sometimes out of network benefits are almost as good as in-network). Individuals not accessing insurance benefits will experience a per session fee that typically ranges from $85 – $95 per session.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Please feel free to use the contact link at the top of the page or call at 864.402.9257
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
Counseling sessions need to be cancelled 24 hours in advance in order to avoid being charged for the session. Please contact Denise via telephone if you need to cancel a previously scheduled appointment. The phone number is 864.402.9257
How do I get started?
Begin by contacting Denise and finding out if she will be able to serve your counseling needs. After that, you will be asked for your email address so that she can send you some paperwork to read. You will need to sign her Disclosure and Consent forms, fill out basic information, and download the appropriate intake form. You have the option of bringing your completed forms with you to the first appointment or faxing them to her ahead of time.
Do you take my insurance?
Denise is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of SC, and is a Medicare Provider. Please understand that many insurances require certain protocols from providers in order for members to receive services. For example, often the client must receive a DSM-5 diagnosis, agree to an active treatment plan with progress summaries, and allow some disclosure of Protected Health Information in order to receive benefits. With clients who would prefer not to involve their insurance or for those who have insurance that is out-of-network, Denise operates on fee for service (self-pay) and will provide you with a Super bill that you can use to file with your insurance on your own behalf. Use the contact information on the back of our insurance card to call and find out how your insurance processes out of network benefit claims.
